Jungletots Programme

Every day we cover a different combination of each of the following:

  •  Discussion about the different aspects of the weekly theme which includes show and tell

  •  Perceptual area - such as puzzles, threading, numbers, shape games etc.

  •  Creative activity where the child is exposed to different art forms such as painting, colouring, clay, cutting, collage, baking

  •  Ring time which includes singing, instruments, finger plays, rhymes, movement to music

  •  Free play time which develops social skills such as sharing and taking turns

  •  Outside movement to develop gross motor skills, ball skills, spatial concepts and awareness

  •  Drama and fantasy play

  •  Mid-morning snack

  •  Story time and puppetry to develop concentration and audio skills

The teachers at Jungletots are always available to discuss each child's progress. Our programme is designed to enhance learning oportunities for gifted children, but should a child need additional support in any learning area, the teachers work in conjunction with occupational therapists, physiotherapists and speech therapists to assist the child to reach their full potential.

We have educational outings each term.  The children's development is continuously observed and at the end of the year a progress report is given to each parent.
